Andy was playing drums for jazz bands around about the same time as he was playing with his train set. He's since played for numerous bands in the Sheffield area, earning himself the nickname 'Chair Leg Andy', which refers to his crunching snare sound.

John's early bands were formed with Paul Carrack and both became professional musicians with C.G.Morris & The Reaction Soul Band at the age of 16. Over the years John has played with a long list of bands always providing solid backing for the band and is the perfect guitar player for Soulfaces.
